Implant Dentistry

Dental implants can be used to replace a single missing tooth to several missing teeth or full mouth rehabilitation to restore your smile and function. It can also be used to stabilise loose dentures.

At Dentist on Queen, we can provide you with conventional implant dentistry and keyhole mini implants, a minimally invasive technique.

Please call us for a consultation to see if you are suitable for implant dentistry – it may be more affordable than you think!

What is a dental implant

A dental implant is a small titanium screw or cylinder, which is inserted in the jawbone to replace a missing tooth root. When the bone attaches firmly to the implant (osseointegration), a replacement tooth can be secured to the top of the implant. This new tooth can look, feel and perform just like a natural tooth.

Dental implants are an ideal option for people to replace a lost tooth due to periodontal disease, injury, or some other reason.

While innovative, dental implants actually preserve existing teeth, whereas traditional bridgework relies on neighbouring teeth for support.

Dental implants are so natural looking and feeling, you may forget you ever lost a tooth. Perhaps you hide your smile because of spaces from missing teeth. Maybe your dentures don't feel secure. Perhaps you have difficulty chewing. If you are missing one or more teeth and would like to smile, speak and eat again with comfort and confidence, there is good news!

Dental implants are teeth that can look and feel just like your own! Under proper conditions, such as placement by an experienced dentist and diligent patient maintenance, implants can last a lifetime. Long-term studies continue to show improving success rates for implants.

What can dental implants do?

  • Replace one or more teeth without affecting bordering teeth.
  • Support a bridge and eliminate the need for a removable partial denture
  • Implants can be used to stabilise a full denture

How do we provide you with the best implant service?

Using 3D x-rays we can:

  • Left picture: evaluate the proposed position of the implant
  • Middle picture: visualise important structures such as nerves and arteries (labelled in purple)
  • Right picture: evaluate the quantity and quality of bone at the implant site

A surgical guide aids implant placement. We take into consideration the position of the final crown before we place the implant.

We plan the product design virtually through CEREC before constructing the implant prosthesis. It will be easy for you to understand the implant proposal.
