Fillings

In modern dentistry, there are two main types of fillings: direct and indirect.

Direct fillings are placed directly into the tooth during a single visit. These include composite resins, glass ionomer cements, and similar materials. Older silver amalgam fillings are rarely used today.

Indirect fillings (like inlays, onlays, crowns, and veneers) are made outside the mouth, either from impressions or using CAD/CAM 3D technology. Common materials include ceramic, zirconia, gold, and resin-based ceramics.

At Dentist on Queen, our caring team will recommend the best filling option for your needs after a thorough exam.

Dental Crowns – Fast, Strong & Natural-Looking

If your tooth is broken, has a large filling, or is badly decayed, a dental crown can help protect it and restore your smile. At Dentist on Queen, we offer same-day crowns using CEREC technology, so you don’t need to come back for multiple visits.

Why You Might Need a Crown:

  • Cracked or broken tooth
  • Large old filling
  • Tooth damaged by decay
  • To improve the look of a tooth

A crown covers and strengthens your tooth, helping it look and feel like new.

Same-Day Crowns with CEREC

No more waiting weeks or wearing temporary crowns! With CEREC, we can make and place your crown in just one visit—usually in about 1–2 hours.

How It Works:

  • We clean and prepare your tooth
  • A special 3D camera scans your tooth—no messy impressions
  • We design your crown on the computer
  • Our machine makes your crown while you wait
  • We fit and bond it in place—done!

Benefits of CEREC Crowns:

  • One visit, no follow-ups
  • No temporary crowns
  • No impressions
  • Looks natural and feels great
  • Strong and long-lasting
  • Comfortable and precise fit

Root Canal Treatment (Endodontics) – Simplified

What is it?

A root canal treats infections or problems in the tooth’s nerve (called the pulp). In the past, infected teeth were removed, but now we try to save natural teeth whenever possible.

What happens during the treatment?

  1. Diagnosis: X-rays and exams confirm if a root canal is needed.
  2. Pain Relief: The area is numbed, and a rubber dam is used to isolate the tooth.
  3. Cleaning: A small opening is made to remove the infected pulp. The canals are cleaned, shaped, and filled with medication and a temporary filling.
  4. Follow-up: At the next visit, the inside is sterilized and permanently filled and sealed. X-rays help ensure everything is clean and smooth.

Aftercare:

  • Brittleness: The treated tooth is weaker and may crack, so a crown is often recommended.
  • Discoloration: The tooth may darken, especially front teeth. Whitening, a veneer, or a crown can improve appearance.

Porcelain Veneers at Dentist on Queen

Chipped, stained, or gapped teeth? Porcelain veneers can help you smile with confidence again.

Veneers are thin, natural-looking shells bonded to the front of your teeth—strong, stain-resistant, and done in just two visits (or even same day with our in-house Cerec technology).

They can:

  • Cover chips
  • Close small gaps
  • Improve tooth alignment
  • Look just like real teeth

Dental Implants at Dentist on Queen

Missing a tooth? Dental implants are a strong, natural-looking solution that can restore your smile, bite, and confidence.

An implant is a small titanium post placed in the jawbone to support a new tooth—no need to rely on neighbouring teeth like with bridges.

Benefits of Implants:

  • Look and feel like natural teeth
  • No slipping like dentures
  • Help preserve jawbone structure
  • Long-lasting with proper care
  • Great for any age

Implants can replace a single tooth, support bridges, or stabilize dentures.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
